		<description>If there are several elevators and I am in the elevator is in a rush to get someplace, and someone is on the way toward the elevator, but not making an attempt to get there quickly, I&#039;m not going to wait for them. 		<description>Well Mr. Building Engineer Dan, I&#039;ll have you know the button in my elevator actually does work, and it&#039;s a pretty new elevator (not one of those ones with a gate instead of a door, although that would be cool.)  In an ideal universe the door close button would cause the doors to shut like a bear trap.</description>

Anyway, NO the close buttons do not work modern elevators, doors close on a time delay basis.  The close button is for use with the fireman&#039;s emergency switch, or if the car is switched to manual operation.</description>
