Health Issues

If you are using an elevator while sick, consider waiting for the elevator to arrive empty. The close proximity of an elevator makes it a good place for germs to be transferred.

If you have a cold, keep your mouth covered and avoid touching the buttons without a tissue. Always cover your mouth when sneezing in an elevator.

As a courtesy, you might consider warning new arrivals to the elevator that you are sick before allowing them to board. This gives them a choice rather than creating a situation where they unknowingly expose themselves to your condition.

Never, under any circumstances urinate or defecate in en elevator. It is not, and never will be considered funny by anyone. It presents a serious health risk to elevator riders as well as maintenance personnel.

Riding an elevator while intoxicated should be avoided. Your impairment could present a danger to yourself and other riders. Take the stairs and use the hand rails.

Do not smoke in any elevator.

I really don’t think that stairs while heavily intoxicated is such a good Idea. Especially if you are a drunk who falls down a lot…

Oh, and if you are into perfumed hair dressings, layered scents and/or heavy aftershaves please take the stairs or wait for an empty car. I find Brut, Old Spice, Cinnabar and Youth Dew espcially nauseating.

Moose, you are not the only one who is waiting for ettiquette on passing gas. Sometimes a rapid jump or bump may even jossle your innards enough to scare a little wind out of you. However, what I hate is when you get onto an empty elevator after a recent windy passenger, and at the next floor another person boards thinking it was you. I hate that. Do I mention, “it wasn’t me?”

Good grief! Do we REALLY need to be told that an elevator is not a bathroom?

Hmm….wow The idea of risking one’s well being by taking the stairs while intoxicated, seems to be over the edge. Especially if its a apartment complex, if your drunk definately take the elevator, for your safety. I have known people getting severly injured from taking the stairs drunk.

Go ahead and ride the elevator while your wasted. Just bring a friend (preferably one not as hammered as you, or at least one who can appear so) to reassure other passengers that you won’t go into rants about how much of a prick the bartender was for kicking you out…and so they know you won’t hurl all over them…

How about not taking one when your wearing purfume that others can smell? I’m allergic to scents found in many purfumes, and have literally passed out in elevators because of someone being overly purfumed and I was allergic to it and my airways closeing before I could get away from them.
